TWI in Maryland was started in 1982 as a home business. Prior to that, Toni worked for a stationery and party planning company in their store for 5 years, and then called on retail businesses to design logos and fulfill their printing for an additional year. Her children were 2 and 8 when she realized a need to open a home business and The Write Image quickly went from being a part-time studio to a full-time business catering to social and commercial clients with an emphasis on personal service and making clients very happy.
During the early 1980's medical practices didn't advertise and had very traditional-looking stationery. Toni recognized a need for logos, branding and printing that made a professional and creative statement in their letterhead, business cards, brochures and announcements. Because businesses had parties and events, she designed invitations for companies and then those employees came to her for their personal events. The business continued to evolve and The Write Image was designing and printing Wedding Invitations, Bar and Bat Mitzvah Invitations, Holiday Cards and Holiday Invitations and the list kept growing.
In 2001 Toni and her oldest son, Josh, decided to expand their business as they recognized the need for an online printing business with real-time proofs offered. After working on their website for a couple of years, they realized that they wanted a 'brick and mortar' presence in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as continuing with Toni's studio in Maryland. After a considerable search for the right property to house their retail store and office, they found their current location, renovated the space and moved in. Toni continues to commute back and forth between her two locations and the store is jointly owned and run by Josh and his wife, Miriam, while staffed with talented and dedicated employees. The business has further evolved as other manufacturers recognized the preview technology developed by Josh, and have him fulfill their website requirements for their own companies.
Printing is an ever-changing industry but what remains constant is Toni's original vision for The Write Image. Clients deserve the best service, the best quality, and the most value for their hard-earned dollars. She still cares about each and every client being happy with the service they receive and the quality of their printing. The printing sets the tone for any event...hence the name 'The Write Image.'
